Project overview
Building Blue Reef Festival campaigns across design, video, advertising and live event coverage.
Based at Loddington Farm near Maidstone, Blue Reef is an independent music festival bringing together established acts, grassroots artists and a wider mix of entertainment across the weekend.
Our role covered both the build-up to the festival and the event itself, giving Blue Reef one creative team across the campaigns.
Project overview
Building Blue Reef Festival campaigns across design, video, advertising and live event coverage.
Our role covered both the build-up to the festival and the event itself, giving Blue Reef one creative team across the campaigns.
The content needed to do more than simply show the finished product. It had to give people a feel for the brewery itself, the team behind it and the care that goes into what they make, while still feeling relaxed and true to Musket’s personality.
Building the Campaign
We created the visual content used to promote Blue Reef across social media, digital advertising and print, including lineup announcements, artist graphics, posters and other campaign material.
The design needed to work across a wide range of formats while still feeling recognisably Blue Reef throughout the campaign.
That gave the festival a consistent visual presence from the first announcement through to the final weeks of ticket promotion.
Video content throughout the campaign
Video played a major part in the festival marketing.
We created promotional videos, lineup announcements, artist content and social media edits designed to keep the campaign moving as the event approached.
Rather than relying on a single festival trailer, the aim was to build a library of content that could be released throughout the campaign and adapted for different platforms and advertising.
Paid advertising and ticket promotion
Alongside the creative work, we managed paid advertising around the festival.
Campaign creative, video, landing pages and advertising could all be considered together, making it easier to keep the message consistent.
The focus was on putting the festival in front of relevant audiences and supporting ticket promotion throughout the campaign.
Filming the Festival
Our video team filmed across the site, capturing live performances, crowds, atmosphere and activity throughout the weekend.
We also provided stage camera operators, giving Blue Reef live video coverage of performances alongside the wider festival filming.
That footage could then be turned into social content, promotional edits and material for future campaigns.
More than a Video Project
Blue Reef became a great example of the kind of project where Dope works best.
Design, video production, website development, paid advertising and live event content all had a role to play, and each part benefited from being considered as part of the same campaign.
Across the time we worked with Blue Reef, the aim remained simple: give the festival strong creative work before, during and after the event, and make sure the different parts of the campaign all captured the vibe.
