At Dope Studio, we had the privilege of collaborating with Musket Brewery, a craft brewery with a rich history and a dedication to creating exceptional beers. For their new lager, ‘Red Coat’, we were tasked with designing a can that not only embodied the essence of the brew but also paid homage to the brewery’s roots and story.
The design journey for Red Coat Lager began with a deep dive into history, drawing inspiration from the uniforms of British Soldiers during the Napoleonic era. The distinct red coats and regal aesthetics served as the foundation for our creative exploration.

For their new lager, ‘Red Coat’, we were tasked with designing a can that not only embodied the essence of the brew but also paid homage to the brewery’s roots and story.
The design journey for Red Coat Lager began with a deep dive into history, drawing inspiration from the uniforms of British Soldiers during the Napoleonic era. The distinct red coats and regal aesthetics served as the foundation for our creative exploration.
Our vision was to make the Red Coat Lager can appear as if it were wearing the uniform of a British Soldier. By positioning multiple cans together, the formation creates a visual spectacle reminiscent of soldiers standing in unity, ready for a toast. This innovative approach not only showcased the beer but also told a story that echoed Musket Brewery’s commitment to craftsmanship and tradition.
The Musket Brewery logo was seamlessly incorporated into the design, positioned to blend naturally with the soldier’s uniform. This strategic integration not only reinforced the brand identity but also added a touch of authenticity to the overall concept. It was crucial for us to maintain the balance between historical inspiration and contemporary branding.
